Posted by angermouse on Aug 9th, 2006... Oh boy. Just the mere fact that you've got an entire prologue devoted to your origin story tells me that you're *really* committed to detail. I haven't read nearly enough of 'War of the Winds', but I plan on plowing through every single page if it's the last thing i do. Hooboy. The art style fits well with the writing, and the writing itself reads like a good fantasy novel. It's going to be tough to stay away from the novelization just to skip ahead lol

Posted by Faileas on Jun 19th, 2006... What really sets this comic apart from so many other fantasy tales is the complexity of the history that is already in place before we, the readers, arrive. There are relationships and complications and thousands of years of background upon which the current arc is built, and I think that's wonderful.
As difficult as it has been, I have avoided reading the novelized of "The War of Winds" simply because I want to experience it in the comic medium... but I can't guarantee I'll be able to hold off forever. :)
This is an excellent comic, and I heartily recommend it. |
